Bon Iver annoncerer i,i - det nye album udkommer 30. august

Den 30. august udsender Bon Iver sit fjerde album i,i på Jagjaguwar / Playground Music i Norden. Albummet er optaget i Sonic Ranch studiet i Texas og April Base studiet i Wisconsin. Albummet fuldender en cyklus: Hvor For Emma, Forever Ago illustrerede vinteren, Bon Iver, Bon Iver et spirende forår, 22, A Million den bagende sommer, kommer efteråret til at starte med i,i.

Allerede i juni kunne den første lyd fra i,i høres med ’Hey, Ma’ og ’U (Man Like)’. Nu udsender Bon Iver yderligere to sange fra albummet. Hør ’Jelmore’ og ’Faith’ nu.
 
Om albummet fortæller Justin Vernon:
“It feels very much like the most adult record, the most complete. It feels like when you get through all this life, when the sun starts to set, and what happens is you start gaining perspective. And then you can put that perspective into more honest, generous work.”
 
Bandet til i,i sessionerne har været Sean Carey, Andrew Fitzpatrick, Mike Lewis, Matt McCaughan, Rob Moose, Jenn Wasner og Justin Vernon. Derudover har der været bidrag fra James Blake, Brad og Phil Cook, Aaron og Bryce Dessner, Bruce Hornsby, Channy Leaneagh, Naeem, Velvet Negroni, Marta Salogni, Francis Starlite, Moses Sumney, TU Dance og mange flere.
 
Da bandet flyttede indspilningerne af i,i fra April Base til Sonic Ranch kunne Bon Iver drage fuld nytte af faciliteterne og brugte i længere perioder alle 5 studier på samme tid. “It allowed us to feel confident and comfortable, to be completely free of distraction. I don’t think I left the property in six weeks. And in many ways the story of the album is the story of those six weeks rather than the almost six years of some of the songs.” fortæller Vernon.
