Clap Your Hands Say Yeah annoncerer nyt album – New Fragility er ude d. 29/1 2021
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah har netop annonceret udgivelsen af deres nye album New Fragility – et album der udkommer d. 29. januar 2021 på CYHSY / Secretly Distribution / Playground Music. Sammen med annonceringen har bandet udgivet to nye singler som en dobbelt A-side.

Der vil snart udkomme musikvideoer til begge sange lavet af Olivier Groulx.
“These songs are politically motivated, which is unusual for me,” siger Alec Ounsworth om ’Hesitating Nation’ og Thousand Oaks’. "The only other politically motivated song I've written is 'Upon This Tidal Wave of Young Blood'.”
'Upon This Tidal Wave of Young Blood' var med til at lancere bandets selvbetitlede debutalbum tilbage i 2005. Og nu, femten år og otte albums senere, har Ounsworth igen haft lyst til at takle politik i sin musik, og det der sker i USA, der er en indikator på hvor seriøs han mener at denne situation er.
"'Hesitating Nation' is a song meant to convey my sense of disappointment and alienation with the rewarded mentality of getting ahead at all costs, inevitably to the detriment of those who didn’t sign up to be part of the experiment.”
Om ’Thousand Oaks fortæller Alec Ounsworth, ”In 2018, there was a shooting in Thousand Oaks, CA which killed 13 people. This song has to do with the impotence of the American government in the face of such tragedies."
New Fragility er produceret af Alec Ounsworth, med yderligere produktion fra Will Johnson, indspillet af Britton Beisenherz i Austin, TX, mixet af John Angello i New Jersey og mastereret af Greg Calbi.
Sammen med annonceringen af New Fragility løfter Clap Your Hands Say Yeah sløret for en ny Europaturné, der blandt andet bringer gruppen forbi Danmark, når de spiller på Hotel Cecil d. 13. oktober 2021.
