Passenger er tilbage med annonceringen af nyt album – Songs for the Drunk and Broken Hearted ude d. 8/1-21
I dag kan Mike Rosenberg, bedre kendt som Passenger, annoncere sit nye studiealbum Songs for the Drunk and Broken Hearted, der udkommer d. 8. januar 2021 på Cooking Vinyl / Playground Music. Sammen med den glædelige annoncering udgiver Rosenberg albummets titelsang sammen med en tilhørende musikvideo.
Herudover kan Passenger annoncere at al materiale til de fysiske udgivelser – CD & vinyl – er lavet af 100% genanvendeligt materiale, og at et træ vil blive plantet for hver fysisk enhed solgt via Passengers webbutik.
I videoen til ’Songs for the Drunk and Broken Hearted’ ses Passenger og hans bandmedlemmer klædt ud som klovne, der spiller på en scene for fulde folk og de med knuste hjerter. Om videoen fortæller Mike:
“This video was so much fun to make. I’m a huge fan of ‘The Joker,’ and as the lyrics in the chorus of the song mention ‘jokers and ‘jesters,’ it felt like the perfect opportunity to dress up like a clown and freak everyone out. The idea of setting it in a really grim and depressing bar room environment really helps bring out the story within the song.”

Størstedelen af sangene på Songs of the Drunk and Broken Hearted er skrevet efter et nyligt brud.
“Coming out of a break-up creates such a fragile window,” fortæller Rosenberg. “You’re incredibly vulnerable for a few months. You’re so used to the safety of being with somebody and suddenly you’re out in the world on your own. And you get pissed and probably make some bad decisions. In some ways, you make it worse for yourself. But it’s a heady moment, losing love and being drunk. And it’s universal. Everyone goes through it at some stage.”
Passengers år, der egentlig skulle have stået på busking-gigs, festivalkoncerter og headline shows, er blevet udskudt til 2021. Med sine autentiske og engagerede liveshows har Rosenberg vundet hjerterne på både fans og anmeldere verden over, hvilket har resulteret i, at han har kunnet optræde som headliner på nogle af verdens mest kendte scener – og han ser frem til at vende tilbage til landevejen, når det er trygt og sikkert for alle. Indtil da inviterer Mike Rosenberg sine fans til en intim aften på Londons ikoniske Royal Albert Hall, til en eksklusiv optræden.
