Parquet Courts er tilbage! Albummet Sympathy For Life udkommer d. 22. oktober

Parquet Courts’ tankevækkende rock danser til nye toner når Sympathy For Life udkommer d. 22. oktober på Rough Trade Records / Playground Music.

“We see New York City from the vantage point of someone busily hurrying through it. That’s what life can be like here; a world of constant motion surrounds you while you’re just walking toward where you need to be. There’s a lot of beauty that can be missed, and it wasn’t until the streets were virtually empty that I did miss it. The song was written before all quarantine, but eerily enough the lyrics echo that longing. Now the city is back and, so it seems, are Parquet Courts." 
 
På Sympathy For Life, finder vi Brooklyn-bandet på deres mest instinktive og elektroniske album, hvor de spinder deres tryllebindende, psykedeliske storytelling ind på et friskt territorie, mens de bevarer deres unikke identitet.

Mest bygget på improviserede jams inspireret af New York klubber, Primal Scream og Pink Floyd, og produceret af Rodaidh McDonald (The xx, Hot Chip, David Byrne) og John Parish (PJ Harvey, Aldous Harding, Dry Cleaning), var Sympathy For Life bestemt til at være dansende - modsat deres globalt elskede forganger Wide Awake! fra 2018. 
"Wide Awake! was a record you could put on at a party. Sympathy For Life is influenced by the party itself. Historically, some amazing rock records have been made from mingling in dance music culture – from Talking Heads to Screamadelica. Our goal was to bring that into our own music. Each of us, in our personal lives, has been going to more dance parties. Or rather, we were pre-pandemic, which is when this record was made,” fortæller co-frontmanden Austin Brown.  

Gruppen annoncerer også en livestream Feel Free - Sympathy For Life, Visualised, bestående af 11 videoer, der dækker hele albummet og som vil blive vist d. 20. oktober, to dage før albummets udgivelse. Bandet har fået 11 dygtige, visuelle kunstnere fra hele verden til at kreere helt unikke oplevelser for fans, der køber en billet til Feel Free - Sympathy For Life, Visualised.
