Punkerne fra Australien, Amyl and the Sniffers, annoncerer nyt album - Comfort to Me udkommer d. 10. september
Det australske punk-band Amyl and the Sniffers udgiver deres andet album Comfort to Me d. 10. september på Rough Trade / Playground Music.

I de sene måneder af 2020 gik Amyl and the Sniffers i studiet med producer Dan Luscombe, for at indspille deres andet album. Comfort to Me blev skrevet gennem den over 1-år lange lockdown og er inspireret og udvidet af old-school rock’n’roll (AC/DC, Rose Tattoo, Motörhead), moderne hardcore (Warthog og Power Trip), samt fra helte fra moderlandet (Coloured Balls og Cosmic Psychos).
Lyrisk er albummet inspireret af forsanger Amy Taylors rap-idoler og utallige garage-bands. Der blev indspillet sytten sange under Comfort to Me-sessionerne og tretten af dem kom med på albummet. Sangene blev mixet flere forskellige steder i verden af Nick Launay (Nick Cave, IDLES, Yeah Yeah Yeahs) og er mastered af Bernie Grundman (Michael Jackson, Prince, Dr Dre).
Om albummet fortæller Taylor, “If you have to explain what this record is like, I reckon it’s like watching an episode of The Nanny but the setting is an Australian car show and the Nanny cares about social issues and she’s read a couple of books, and Mr Sheffield is drinking beer in the sun. It’s a Mitsubishi Lancer going slightly over the speed limit in a school zone. It’s realising how good it is to wear track pants in bed. It’s having someone who wants to cook you dinner when you’re really shattered. It’s me shadow-boxing on stage, covered in sweat, instead of sitting quietly in the corner.”
